There was an article in the Milton Champion asking if any families would have donations of winter coats suitable for women in need.
The jackets/coats are being collected at the Milton Pennington store (near the Walmart) Crossroads location off Steeles until Sat Oct 31st.

Oakville Public Library has lots of fun for you this Public Library Week, kicking off Sunday with Customer Appreciation Day.

November will mark 10 years that I was diagnosed with cancer. It’s hard to believe because time has passed by, and life has moved along nicely for my family and me. However, when I think back to my experience, it seems like just yesterday I was given the horrible news, and was undergoing cancer treatments.

I have been in remission for 9 years, and have supported the Edmond Odette Cancer Centre at The Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre ever...

On the heels of Woodstock’s 40th anniversary comes Milton’s very own outdoor music festival.
Low Key Fest will be held Saturday, Aug. 29 from noon to 10 p. m. at
the sprawling, 42-acre Karlovac Park, 1860 Thompson Rd. S., south of
Britannia Road.
The festival will feature a variety of GTA punk acts including The
Artist Life, Dead City Citizens, Diemonds, HYFY, Keepin’ 6 and No Right
Turns.
The family-friendly festival is equipped with an enclosed stage, a fully licensed bar, washrooms and plenty of parking.
Tickets cost $20 each.

Barleepalooza will be held at the Milton Fairgrounds Saturday Aug 29th 10-5pm rain or shine. Admission is free
Activities include Pet contests, giant bouncy castle for the children, silent auction, a number of animals up for adoption will be on hand.
The event is being put on by Barlees Angel Rescue Network, a non-profit, all breed animal rescue group in Souther Onatrio.

As many of you have already seen, there will be a mommy entrepreneur
show October 24 at the Campbellville Lyons Club Hall. I've had so much
success with getting vendors, that I've booked out the upper level of
the hall also to accommodate everyone. I thought I could make this
event an even bigger success if I had a mom to mom sale at the same
time as the mommy entrepreneur event.

This event will have over
20 exciting mommy entrepreneur vendors selling their goods, Child Find
Ontario fingerprinting kids and entering them into the national
registry,...

This looks like a ton of fun. I wish DS was a little older. The archeology digs are free. You just have to pay for parking. Might be fun for some of you with older kids.

My little "Pooh" has her photo in today's Champion enjoying her strawberries. Normally I can't get a good pic of her because she likes to do her own thing and won't look at the camera. Mr. Payne was very patient with her and took about 50 photos; she sat there and ignored him the whole time! Too bad last weekend she did a faceplant on our driveway...now she'll have a keepsake of her "soe noz" (sore nose).

I am a part of the "Starshine Team" in the Milton Relay for Life and we are doing the relay in remembrance of little Joshua that was taken away from his family at the very young age of 2. My name is Jennifer
and I am helping to raise funds for Joshua’s family. Joshua is a 2 year old little boy who lives
in Milton with
his Mom and Dad. Within the last month,
he was diagnosed with a brain tumour that turned out to be cancerous. Treatment was started immediately however was
stopped as the cancer has spread and there is nothing that can be done to save
the precious little boy, who up until now was perfectly healthy. He is resting at home now with palliative
care.
