Will I be the only one staying up late to get the laundry done?? lol

I just checked Oakville Hydro...and we have the same pricing as listed above if you have a smart meter.
Non-smart meter residential is as follows (and it's the same in Milton)
And if I had a smart meter, I'd be doing everything at night!

Residential Consumers
(May 1, 2008 to October 31, 2008)
First 1000 kWh $0.050/kWh**
Balance kWh $0.059/kWh**
(November 1, 2008 to April 30, 2009)
First 600kWh $0.050/kWh**
Balance kWh $0.059/kWh**

I believe they have switched everyone in Milton to the smart meter (not 100% though).
I however refuse to stay up late doing laundry..... so it all piles up until the weekend and then we end up doing 5-8 loads.... but at least dh is home to help.
Thanks for the reminder of the changes HeidiHo!!

I don't think rural Milton has been changed yet, but they are going to be changing soon.
We started in April. They did each area in spirts.
we do notice a little bit of a difference but we try to use everything off peak. Not happy to pay such high prices when our power goes out at least once a week.

I will be staying up late too to get laundry done!!!!!! lol
I am so glad my dishwasher has a rely button on it so I can set it to come on in the middle of the night. Now if it only had a button to put the dishes away when its done that would be perfect!!!
I've been doing laundry on the weekends since April. Works out well that I can get it all done and put away before the new week starts.
I'll change our programmable thermostat this weekend. Maybe I'll have it come on from 5am to 7am to warm up the house a little before we get up. Then I'll keep it low during the day.

LuckyGirl,
I'm SO with you about the button to put the dishes away . I've got to do that tonight then re-stack the thing. Perpetual - though I'll take that over hand-washing!!
I'm another one doing late-night laundry, though mostly weekends. 3-5 loads spread over Saturday & Sunday because I've got to be up early most days during the week (6:00 AM). I need my sleep!
Programmable thermostats still help keep the gas bill down during the winter (if you're on gas heat). I feel for any rural residents on electric heat . My DH's aunt has a rural property that's mostly electric heat and her electric bill for a 2 - month period is what we pay in a year during the winter. EEKK.
My guess as to the rate change is because of more lighting demand due to the shorter days. Good time to get all the most commonly used light bulbs switched over to compact fluorescents.
